Ron Hilvert, a graduate of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, is the Founder and Managing Director of the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management.  

Ron has over 45 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry and is recognized as the most experienced Human Resources Executive in the industry worldwide. He has had professional and educational contact with all the major hotel schools and universities in North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia for over 45 years. His recent awards include: The Lifetime Achievement Award from The Emirates Academy and Outstanding Service to the Industry Award from the Arabian Investment Conference 2016.

Ron has held the worldwide Corporate Human Resources position for Hyatt International, Hilton International and Jumeirah Group (Founder and Managing Director of the Emirates  Academy of  Hospitality Management) and was an opening General Manager with Hyatt International Hotels. Ron has lectured at several major schools and universities, and has regularly been invited to speak at international conferences.

A fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, he is fluent in four European languages.

She has acquired an extensive work and business management experience in Australia, USA, Europe and Asia with distinguished organizations such as National Australia Bank, Qantas airline, Oxford University, and Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management Sri Lanka operation.

Manik is the Founder and Managing Director of Omega Global, the entity which facilitated the entrance of Global brands to Australia, Sri Lanka, and Maldives - www.omega-global.com

She has been the catalyst of establishing the following global brands to regional territories to cultivate the network of business relationships, brand positioning and international operation in which Omega Global also holds exclusivity for Sri Lanka & Maldives, such as GBIT, OXITEC, ARGI, VOLT Lab, AEROMIC, proposed ONE 15 Marina Colombo, local operations of the prestigious brand - Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management – Jumeirah group which is part of Dubai Holdings.

Her deep passion on Biotec helped establish MoZi LAB - which works on preventing Mosquito Borne diseases such as: Zika, Dengue, and Yellow Fever in Sri Lanka and its neighboring territories such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal etc alongside the exclusive partnership with Oxford University spin-off Oxitec Limited – UK and GBIT -India.

She also leads the CSR project to establish “Center of Excellence”- research and development - prevention of Mosquito Borne diseases in collaboration with the World Health Organization, Ministry of Health Sri Lanka, local Universities, entomologists and public health officials.

Furthermore, she acts at an advisory capacity on various government and corporate ventures, emphasizing global best practices on entrepreneurship, incubating young talent, importance of investing in human capital, the need for professional development and training in soft skills development, travel and hospitality sector.

Ravi Abeysuriya is the Group Director of Candor Group of Companies, owned by National Industries Group (NIG), one of the largest listed companies (Assets over USD 4.7 bn) in Kuwait. Formerly, he was the Head of Strategic Business Development at Hayleys Group, Managing Director of Amba Research Lanka and Managing Director of Fitch Ratings Lanka. 

Ravi is currently responsible for private equity investments for a 200 million dollar PE Fund. Previously he was responsible for establishing Candor Group of Companies, Amba Research, a pioneer global investment research outsourcing company and the first credit rating agency in Sri Lanka as CEO/MD. Prior to that, Ravi was the head of corporate finance at JP Morgan, where he handled international equity placements and restructuring of companies. He has held senior roles in private equity investment, consulting for the World Bank and the Government of Sri Lanka. Ravi is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, and a Chartered Financial Analyst, USA and has an MBA from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

He functioned as a permanent member of the Financial Sector Reforms Committee (FSRC), a Prime Ministerial Task Force appointment by Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe. He was also twice appointed as a commission member of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka and was a Director of Sri Lanka Insurance and Chairman of the Investment Committee (responsible for managing Rs.60 billion Equity & Fixed Income Portfolio). He is also the President of the Colombo Stock Brokers Association, President of the Association of Alternative Financial Institutions and was also the former President of CFA Sri Lanka, President of ITESA & Vice President of SLASSCOM.

Mr. Ronald C Perera, President’s Counsel, has been appointed as Chairman, Bank of Ceylon by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Finance. He assumed office on Wednesday 28th January 2015.

Mr. Perera is a LLB graduate from the University of Colombo and also holds a LLM in International Trade Law from Northumbria University. Mr. Perera was appointed as a President’s Counsel in 2012. He was a Director of the Bank of Ceylon previously.

Mr. Perera is an experienced lawyer with a wide practice in the original courts as well as in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. He has wide experience in Civil and Criminal litigation, negotiation and drafting of commercial and transport contracts and agreements. Mr. Perera has specialized in Commercial Law, Banking Law, Industrial Law, Injunctions, Defamation, Election Petitions, Civil Appeals, Revision Applications, Writ Applications, and Fundamental Rights Cases. Additionally, he has appeared in several Commercial Arbitrations.

From November 2015, Mr. Perera is also the Chairman of Bank of Ceylon (UK) Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon.

Priyanka Coorey is the Senior Investment Officer based at the Colombo office of International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. The IFC offers investment, advisory, and asset management services to encourage private sector development in emerging markets. She leads project and corporate finance investments for services, manufacturing and agribusiness sectors in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Prior to joining IFC, she worked for over 12 years in commercial and investment banking in the Asia Pacific region. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the UK (FCMA).

Roman Scott is the founder and Chairman of The Calamander Group, a Singapore basedholding companywith interests in real estate, hotels, food and beverage and consumer brands, and Managing Director of the Group’s private equity arm Calamander Capital.In real estate Calamander operates across all lines-commercial, retail and residential, and provides ‘affordable luxury’ living, working and shopping spaces, with close to 250,000 square feet under management. In hospitality it designs, builds and operates four star, family orientated hotels under the Calamander brand. In fast casual dining and specialty coffee, CGI develops and manages international brands, including The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and its own brands. CGI also manufactures select products for its dining businesses. The group has offices in Singapore, Sri Lanka in Colombo and Galle, and Bangladesh in Dhaka, and employs 300 people.  The company is active in community and social causes in Sri Lanka and is certified carbon neutral.

Roman is also a global economic strategist and bank restructuring expert, and the Economic Spokesman for the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, for whom he produces a annual Global Macroeconomic Briefing and appears as a regular guest on CNBC.  He serves in an advisory capacity the UK Government’s interests in Singapore, most recently for the UK Treasury Select Committee.  He previously served on the Singapore Government’s Economic Restructuring Committee Financial Services Task Force in 2001,Singapore’s Economic Strategies Committee in 2009, the board of the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore from 2005-11, and the Indonesian Government's Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA)from 2000-04.

Career History
Roman was formerly a Partner and Director of The Boston Consulting Group, and a senior member of BCG's Global Financial Services practice based in Singapore.  He has over 20 years of experience as a board level advisor to more than 50 financial institutions and central banks/bank restructuring agenciesaround the world.  Roman led BCG's bank credit risk management practiceand Basel II team in SEA, and implemented much of BCG's post-crisis bank restructuring work in the region following the Asian Financial Crisis.  He is best known in his role as advisor to the Indonesian Government's Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) for the restructuring of the country’s banking sector, following which he worked directly for the boards of the top five banks in Indonesia.  In this capacity he served the administrations of Presidents Wahid (1999-2001) and Megawati Sukarnoputri (2001-2004), co-operating with IMF and World Bank teams.

Roman also led BCG’s Wealth Management Practice in Asia from 2000-2006, and has worked for most of the world’s major global private banks.  He started his career in management consulting as an analyst in London in 1987 after graduation, working for UK life insurance, credit cards and retail banking clients, before moving to Tokyo in 1994 andto BCG’s Singapore office in 1999.

Publications:  Roman is the author of ‘Credit Risk Management in Emerging Markets’ in Frontiers in Credit Risk (John Wiley, 2003), and several global economic articles for the BCOC.  His restructuring work at Indonesia’s Bank Mandiri and Bank Danamon were the subjects of books by other authors, as was his work at AIG Insurance in Japan.

Education:Roman holds anM.Phil. from Pembroke College, Oxford University, where he was a Leyland scholar; and a B.Sc. (Hons) from Manchester University, both in the UK.He is also a Charter Holder of the Institute of Marketing.  He was schooled at Dulwich College, London.

He is also an independent non-executive director of John Keells Hotels PLC. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. He graduated from the University of Peradeniya in Physics and holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Colombo.
